Dr. Jugenburg uses advanced wound closure techniques and dissolvable deep sutures to support the repositioned skin and tissue on the breasts and minimize the risk of visible scar stretching. In some patients, permanent Gore-Tex sutures may also be used to provide long-term support. All patients are required to wear a surgical support bra at all times for 6 weeks after surgery, which will lessen tension on the incision lines and prevent scar stretching. Patients are also instructed to sleep on their backs during this time to avoid pressure on the breasts.
I had a consultation today for a breast lift with implant. I really do not want that long verticle scar that accompanies most breast lifts. The surgeon measured me and said I was a 29? He said that I would need the lift with the anchor incision, or I could just have the implant without lift, but the implant would go on top of the muscle. I'm really dissapointed because I do not want that large vertical scar. What are my other options for a lift? I have another consultation scheduled with a different surgeon, but I want to know if they are just going to tell me the same thing.
If you have large saggy breasts, which lack form and a defined shape, you might be wise to undergo a moderate mastopexy procedure. Sure, you might have to endure some fine scarring, but your breasts will be truly renewed and might be completely unrecognizable to you. A mastopexy will lift and firm your breasts, providing them with a high youthful shape and improved anatomical position.

Brazilian butt lift is a combination of liposuction and fat transplantation procedures performed during the same surgery, which improves the prominence of the silhouette. Firstly, surgeon removes fat tissue from the upper part of the back, arms, abdomen, thighs, flanks or other areas where excess fat tissue is present. Extracted fat is purified and specially prepared for later injection. After a few tiny incisions are made, the surgeon strategically transplants patient’s own fat with a cannula to certain parts of the buttocks, giving a more pronounced buttocks and greater contour of the figure.
At this point, opinions vary. Some doctors seem to agree that having a tummy tuck and a Brazilian butt lift simultaneously is the recommended way so that the patient does not have to undergo a second surgery and second-time anaesthesia. Also, costs are less if those two surgeries are performed in one go. Other surgeons suggest the butt lift and tummy tuck are done separately. This is because the recovery after a tummy tuck involves the patient remains in any flexed or bent position at the hips while the recovery after a butt augmentation requires that the patient reduces the pressure applied to the butt region, as much as possible. So, for a patient that has had both procedures at the same time, it will be difficult to find a position that makes them feel comfortable. The rest of the plastic surgeons recommend the patient has the butt lift first, where fat is aggressively being removed from the waist and abdomen, and then schedules to have a tummy tuck to address the loose skin in the trunk and the abdomen after they have recovered from the butt lift.
A technique called “tumescent liposuction" is the most common method for removing fat around the stomach, buttocks, thighs and ankles. It’s also considered the safest. “Tumescent” means that large amounts of buffered salt water are injected into fatty tissue beneath the skin. The doctor makes a cut in the fatty area to be treated, then inserts beneath the flesh a strawlike tube called a cannula that is attached to a vacuum. At the end of the cannula is a stiff wand. The doctor moves it back and forth in rapid motions to loosen fat. The procedure takes 45 minutes to two hours, with a recovery time of up to two weeks. The full effect of liposuction is seen six to 12 weeks after the procedure is performed. After the procedure, the area is bandaged and the patient must wear a compression garment for one to two weeks. Pain and bruising may last up to two weeks, and swelling may last for two weeks to two months.
If you are contemplating a breast lift, with or without an implant, be sure to discuss your goals and objectives, very specifically, including the type of scar you should expect following surgery. Your surgeon should be able to show you exactly where your scar will be. He/she should be willing to discuss your options, describe his surgical techniques, and answer any other questions you have about your breast lift.
To understand the cost of liposuction surgery, it helps to understand what the procedure is. Liposuction removes localized fat cells from deep underneath the skin through a cannula (small tube) that is attached to a vacuum. The surgeon makes a small incision in the skin then inserts the cannula and moves it around to break up the fat cells so they can be suctioned away.
Like you, I do have patients who come to me concerned about scarring before their surgery. Afterward, however, few patients ever mention it to me, because the overall surgical result is so transformative. There is a surgical technique called the periareolar breast lift, which only involves an incision around the nipple / areolar complex, and the incision hides well along the border of the more darkly pigmented areola. However, you would be better suited for the vertical breast lift, and it is important not to choose the wrong technique in pursuit of fewer scars. The technique used determines how much lift can be achieved. In general, there is a significant difference in the aesthetic outcome of a mediocre versus a high quality breast lift, and by choosing a suboptimal surgical technique, you may compromise your ultimate aesthetic result in terms of breast shape or perkiness.
Some surgeons will quote a single global liposuction cost that includes almost every possible surgery-related expense in one lump sum. Typically a global liposuction price is the sum of the surgical fees, plus the non-surgical fee, plus the anesthesiologist’s fee (if general anesthesia is used). A global liposuction cost is commonly used when the liposuction surgery is done in the surgeon’s office or surgery center. When a prospective patient telephones a surgeon’s office to inquire about the cost of liposuction, be certain to determine if the quote is for a global fee or merely the surgical fee. An office employee who answers the telephone might only give information about the surgeon’s fee and not mention other important items such as the anesthesiologist’s fee, and operating room fee.
It’s important to understand exactly what your doctor’s quote includes. Does the number only include your surgeon’s fee? Or will it cover anesthesia, hospital fees, pre- or post-op appointments, and medications you’ll need throughout your recovery? If your doctor’s estimate doesn’t consider all those costs, be sure to factor them into your budget. Also be sure to ask how your surgeon handles revisions, in case you aren’t happy with your initial results.
It’s important to note that some cosmetic surgery scars will only be visible when you’re undressed. This is true of breast lift scars. Because they will be located on the bottom portion of your breasts, they will most often be covered by your clothing, bra, or swimsuit. Only you, your doctor, and anyone with whom you’re intimate will ever see your breast lift scars.
Scars are inevitable after any incision in the skin, of course, because scarring is part of the body’s “self-repair” process. Breast lift surgery, in my experience, is a very satisfying procedure for the vast majority of patients–even with the unavoidable, often minimal, scarring. Scars may be in an anchor shape, in the crease below the breast and from the center of the crease up to the areola, although there are other types of scarring. When you choose an experienced surgeon, you’ll find that your breast lift scars are well hidden, even when wearing low-cut clothing. This is one of the signs of a skilled breast lift surgeon.
The general anesthesia (intravenous sedation) and the long downtime are huge. Not everyone is qualified to go under general anesthesia. Moreover, harvesting the fats is such a harsh process that leaves lots of bruising and required long downtime. The price is significantly higher than the non-surgical route. This aesthetic plastic surgery has reported deaths from bbl with a high mortality rate.
“I generally recommend that my patients take between three and seven days off after liposuction, depending on how many areas were worked on and your pain tolerance,” Dr. Samuel Sohn, a Henderson, Nevada, plastic surgeon says in a liposuction recovery Q&A. Your doctor will prescribe pain medication, though you may find you only need an over-the-counter pain reliever.
A Brazilian butt lift is a specific procedure that aims to enhance your natural curves to give you a firm and youthful behind. Otherwise known as a gluteal augmentation, a Brazilian butt lift relies on the transfer of fat from other parts of the body. The fat is removed via tumescent liposuction, cleaned and purified, then re-injected or grafted back onto the buttocks.
Dr. Cohen specializes in breast lifts, augmentations, revisions and reductions as well as breast cancer reconstructions. A long time dream of Dr. Cohen’s was to travel to developing countries and provide expert surgical care to those who have no other possible access to medical care. This became a reality in 2007 when she became a founding member and Vice President of ISMS Operation Kids.
Although liposuction is used to get rid of fat, it’s not a weight-loss solution. Liposuction works best on deposits of fat that are concentrated in particular areas and resistant to exercise, particularly around the stomach, thighs, hips and buttocks. You might lose a little weight, but it’s not likely to be significant. Liposuction also won’t fix a bulging stomach that’s caused by weakness in the abdominal wall, and it won't tighten loose skin. For toning and flattening the abdominal area, however, liposuction is sometimes combined with abdominoplasty, also known as a tummy tuck, in which fat is removed from the belly, the muscle wall repaired and excess skin removed.
